DOE Office of Science

The Department of Energy’s Office of Science is the federal government’s largest funder of fundamental research in the physical sciences. The office oversees 10 of the 17 DOE national labs and its six program offices oversee a fleet of major science facilities and research centers, many of which are hosted within the national labs system.
