The Lyne Starling Trimble public event series features prominent historians, writers, and scientists who illuminate the history of the physical sciences and their place in society and culture. Supported by a generous donation from astronomer Virginia Trimble, a longtime friend of AIP’s history program, the event series is named after her late father, Dr. Lyne Starling Trimble (1912–1992), an innovative chemist who held patents for a number of color-reproduction systems.

Support Future Events

The Trimble event series was first endowed in 2013 at $100,000 by Dr. Virginia Trimble. We aim to increase the scope and sustainability of the series by increasing its endowment to $200,000.
