Judith Flippen-Anderson

Judith Lee Flippen-Anderson, 76, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away on March 31, 2018, in Annandale, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at noon on April 3, 2018, at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. Judy was born on April 21, 1941, to Sidney and Mary Dubchansky in Winthrop, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Northeastern University and Arizona State University, and worked for more than 30 years at the Naval Research Laboratory as an X-Ray Crystallographer. She also worked as Corporate Secretary of the Board of Directors at the American Institute of Physics, and as a researcher at the Protein Data Bank at Rutgers University. Judith was a long-time member and passionate advocate for a number of Jewish charities, particularly Hadassah and the Jewish Community Relations Council. She was active in the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, American Crystallographic Association, and the AIP Publishing Board of Directors. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Miriam; and by her first husband, Philip Edwin Flippen, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Paul Anderson; daughter, Chenoa Flippen; and grandchildren, Mateo and Malena Parrado.
