April 2014 Photos of the Month
Reaching New Heights
During a 1922 lecture by Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg publicly questioned his mathematics. By gaining Bohr’s attention, Heisenberg was invited on a hike in the mountains where they discussed current theories and quantum physics. This marked the beginning of their famous collaboration. With the Spring upon us, long hikes are a great way for group travel and learning. In April we are featuring images of hiking in the great outdoors from our collection. Please enjoy our featured selection from our historical photos collection of these and other famous hikers. To see more images like the ones we’ve selected, type “hiking” in the search engine.
