Purpose
A bill to require the Secretary of Defense to carry out the Direct Air Capture and Blue Carbon Removal Technology Program, and for other purposes.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Directs the Department of Defense to carry out a blue carbon capture and direct air capture research, development, and demonstration program in coordination with other agencies
- Recommends the program receive $8 million for R&D activities in fiscal year 2020 and $10 million annually for fiscal year 2021 through 2023
- Recommends the program receive $15 million for test and evaluation activities annually for fiscal years 2024 through 2026
