We are breaking down systemic barriers and bringing all talent to the forefront.
TEAM-UP Together drives systemic change and creates a culture of inclusion, support, and success for undergraduate students in physics and astronomy.
Sparking a Physics Revolution
Sparking a Physics Revolution
Talent is found in all communities, opportunity is not.
Advancement in physics and astronomy is integral to our national competitiveness, well-being, and the future of our planet. We need all talent at the table to solve humanity’s greatest challenges.
The persistent underrepresentation of African Americans in physics and astronomy at the undergraduate level is one of the most critical issues facing the future of the physical sciences field today.
TEAM-UP Together is a collective action initiative to drive systemic change, improve educational outcomes, and create a culture of inclusion, support, and success for African American and other students who face unequal opportunities and obstacles toward their success in physics and astronomy departments.

By supporting TEAM-UP Together, you contribute to the success of under-resourced students in persisting toward their degrees in physics and astronomy. Your contributions also support physics and astronomy departmental efforts across the U.S. that drive systemic change in undergraduate education.
When successful, TEAM-UP Together will be a model for creating inclusion within other disciplines.

Scholarships
TEAM-UP Together has awarded 93 scholarships to date, representing 52 schools and 9 HBCUs among them. Krystal Scott, a two-time TEAM-UP Together scholarship recipient majoring in physics with a material science & engineering minor from Hampton University is a great example of how the program has impacted students.
Departmental Grants
Five universities have been awarded departmental grants to support curriculum development, research opportunities and academic programs that help students persist toward degrees in physics and astronomy. Those universities are:
- University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
- Lamar University, Texas
- North Carolina Central University
- Rochester Institute of Technology
- Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts
TEAM-UP Together Campaign Committee
The Campaign Committee is a diverse group of committed volunteers supporting the fundraising effort to fulfill the mission of TEAM-UP Together and sustain the program for years to come.
