The Society of Physics Students (SPS) welcomes students and mentors interested in physics and astronomy, fostering a diverse and dynamic collegiate community. SPS members gain valuable skills for networking and collaboration, opportunities for professional development and hands-on research experience. SPS provides scholarships, travel awards, and fosters a supportive environment that serves as a launchpad for aspiring physicists and astronomers.

The SPS Student Success Fund enhances the academic and professional development of physics and astronomy students through targeted support. It provides financial assistance for student travel to conferences, internships for hands-on experience, and scholarships to ease educational costs. The fund also fosters community by supporting regional events that connect aspiring physicists.

Sigma Pi Sigma

Sigma Pi Sigma is housed within the Society of Physics Students and is the physics national honor society for colleges and universities with a strong physics program. The honor of induction is given to those with outstanding achievement in physics and high standards of general scholarship. Sigma Pi Sigma encourages interest in physics among students at all levels, promotes an attitude of service to its members, and provides fellowship to people who have excelled in physics.

The Alumni Engagement and Sigma Pi Sigma Fund supports lifelong connections and career development for SPS alumni and Sigma Pi Sigma members. It funds networking between students and alumni, alumni-driven events like the Alumni Engagement Conference, and virtual career colloquia offering guidance on diverse career paths. This fund strengthens the community of physical scientists and fosters collaboration across all career stages.

You Make It Possible
