Women and Minorities in STEM Booster Act of 2019
Purpose
A bill to increase the participation of historically underrepresented demographic groups in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education and industry.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Directs the National Science Foundation to award grants that support outreach and mentorship opportunities that aim to increase the participation of women and underrepresented minorities in STEM fields
- Recommends NSF allocate $15 million for such grants annually through fiscal year 2024
