Innovators to Entrepreneurs Act of 2018
Purpose
A bill to require the Director of the National Science Foundation to develop an I-Corps course to support commercialization-ready innovation companies, and for other purposes.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Directs the National Science Foundation to expand participation of Small Business Innovation Research Program grantees in its Innovation-Corps program
- Directs NSF to develop an I-Corps course for “commercialization-ready” participants that teaches them skills such as “attracting investors, scaling up a company, and building a brand”
- Authorizes $5 million for NSF to carry out directed activities during fiscal years 2019 and 2020
- Directs the Comptroller General to evaluate the impacts of the I-Corps program
