
Steve Iona
Current Positions
About
Dr. Steve Iona has been a Teaching Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Denver (DU) since 2003. Prior to that, he was a high school physics teacher in the Denver metropolitan area for about 30 years. He comes from a multi-generational line of physicists, industrial physicists, and engineers. DU has recognized Dr. Iona with their University Teaching Award and as a Teacher-Scholar.
Within the American Association of Physics Teachers, an AIP Member Society, he has served on their Executive Board for over a decade holding offices including Secretary, Treasurer, Chair of the Section Representatives, and as President. Dr. Iona has received their Distinguished Service Citation and is a Fellow of the Association.
Within AIP, Dr. Iona has served on their History Liasson Committee, Education Advisory Committee, and their Physics Policy Committee.
