TEAM-UP Together is accepting scholarship applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
Established by the TEAM-UP Together Partners and supported by AIP Foundation and donors, this program awards $10,000 scholarships to physics and astronomy undergraduates with financial need. TEAM-UP Together Scholars also receive mentoring via the APS National Mentoring Community program, professional development training, career building and networking opportunities, and a sense of belonging and community through student engagement activities. Previous awardees who are continuing their undergraduate journey are encouraged to reapply, to ensure we can support a cohort of students through degree completion by helping to alleviate some financial barriers.
The application process for the 2025-2026 academic year is open until May 23, 2025, to undergraduates in good standing who are majoring in physics or astronomy at accredited U.S. colleges or universities. Second-semester freshmen or higher are eligible to apply for funding. However, seniors graduating in spring 2025 are not eligible. All eligible students can and should reapply each year for additional years of funding.
The online application requires written statements, a transcript, and a letter of recommendation. Learn more about how to apply at https://www.teamuptogether.org/scholarship/how-to-apply
Last year, the program expanded to award 72 scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year. The 2024 cohort comprises 56 first-time recipients and 16 returning scholars, demonstrating the program’s commitment to attracting new students and supporting them throughout their academic journeys.
“With this scholarship, I will have the opportunity to study abroad and learn physics through different teaching methodologies,” said TEAM-UP Together scholar Jada Shorter, a junior at Hendrix College. “With this global awareness and expanded knowledge of physics, I hope to bring a new perspective to my classes and future career.”
In the upcoming academic year, Shorter will be attending Oxford University as a visiting student studying physics.
