Background
Since defending his Ph.D. in physical chemistry at the University of Minnesota in 2007 as a Department of Energy CSGF fellow, Matthew McGrath has worked in four different countries, including two years of Peace Corps service at a public university in central Africa and two years as an NSF international postdoctoral fellow. He is currently working just outside of Paris, France on a large project to incorporate forest management at the European scale into climatic simulations.
